All of the alternative pieces for everything listed (sans weapons) are for the sake of making the job of getting yourself hit and/or tranq capped throughout your vanilla raiding career a lot easier. If you follow the list of the BiS pieces to the letter, the alt pieces are 100% unnecessary unless you are a designated Tranq Shot Hunter on Magmadar.
If you ARE designated as a Tranq Shot Hunter, you WILL need as many of them as you can get your hands on (most ideally all of them)
Note: It is still, however, a good idea to have as many of the +hit pieces as you can get your hands on. As you get upgrades from raiding, you will be gaining and losing +hit, so being able to rotate pieces to compensate for anylost +hit to keep yourself hit-capped is very useful.
“Weapon alt” is just for the sake of convenience because both of them are practically BiS at the same time. The difference between the two weapons is a mere 4 Attack Power, so just use whichever one you are able to get your hands on first and roll with it.
“Weapon alt2” is for Tranq cap. 100% unnecessary unless you are a designated Tranq Shot Hunter on Magmadar.
“Ranged Weapon alt” is listed because Bloodseeker is a tricky weapon to get on the vast majority of private servers (Scriptcraft included), due to a bug in the core where only the person who tags Korrak gets credit for the quest that rewards the crossbow, thus making it extremely difficult to get without an epic mount. The alternative weapon is your best bet if you are unable to get your hands on a Bloodseeker.
